Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Rumbo — including our website, web app, and any related services — you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these terms on your behalf.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use of Rumbo after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Subscription and cancellation

Rumbo offers a free tier with limited features and a paid Core subscription at £9.99 per month (prices inclusive of VAT where applicable). Paid subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis until cancelled.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not offer partial-month refunds, except where required by law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' written notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at hello@learntherumbo.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being misused.

4. User content

Rumbo allows you to input text, goals, and other content ("User Content") to personalise your learning experience. You retain ownership of any User Content you submit.

By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to use, store, and process it solely to deliver the service to you. We do not sell your content or use it to train AI models without your explicit consent.

You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, or that infringes the intellectual property rights of others. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.

5. Intellectual property

All content, design, code, and materials provided by Rumbo — including lessons, assessments, and the AI-generated learning plans — are owned by or licensed to us and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

The Rumbo name, logo, and brand elements are trademarks of Rumbo Learning Ltd. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to use them.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Rumbo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular learning outcome will be achieved.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Language learning results vary by individual — Rumbo is a tool, not a guarantee.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or your use of Rumbo is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by English law.

8. Termination

You may stop using Rumbo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom or the European Union, you may also have rights under the laws of your local jurisdiction that these terms cannot override.
